Overview

Work Location: Timmins, ON
Reference Number: 2025-031
Work Schedule: 5-5-4 rotation, 12-hour shifts. Although this is the established schedule, the company reserves the right to modify it as needed to meet operational requirements.

Northern Sun Mining is a reputable, privately-owned mining company located approximately 35 km southeast of Timmins, Ontario. Our mill facility focuses on processing and refining ore from Gowest Gold’s Bradshaw Project, delivering high-quality metal concentrates while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

Northern Sun Mining currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mill Yard Labourer to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Operations Shift Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations by performing manual and general labourer tasks in the yard and the mill. This role ensures the safe and efficient handling of materials, equipment, and site cleanliness, contributing to overall operational productivity.

Please note this is not a camp-based position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general labourer tasks as assigned, including snow removal in the winter months, sweeping, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
• Perform various physical tasks as required, such as lifting, moving, and positioning materials.
• May be asked to support the Crusher Operator in the crushing plant as needed.
• Assist mill operators with routine checks and adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
• Operate basic machinery and tools under supervision to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the mill and crushing plant.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the area of responsibility.
• Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
• Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
• Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in an industrial environment is highly regarded.
• Basic Mill Process Operator Common Core is an asset.
• Capable of performing physical tasks.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a labour-intensive team environment as well as independently.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and follow instructions accurately.
