Job description

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Mill Production Operator for our gypsum plant, based in Hagersville, Ontario.

The Mill Operator position is a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.

Under the guidance of the Mill Supervisor, the Mill Production Operator conducts the daily operations of the Mill Department.

Additional responsibilities of the Production Operator include:
  • Maintaining production levels, participating in a team environment and working in a manufacturing environment in the safest, most efficient and profitable manner as possible.
  • The successful candidate will go through Common Core training and be trained through the operator rate program. Mill production employees may train as a Sink Float Operator, Loader Operator, Screening Plant Operator and Kettle Operator.
  • Assisting in the implementation of USG Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.
  • Exercise personal safety, promote and enforce safety among crew members.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in a manufacturing/mining environment preferred
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be a people and results-oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of the daily work environment
Additional Information:

Hourly wage: $30.79

Shift: rotating 12-hour continental shifts, working 2 weeks on day shift, 2 weeks on overnight shift. This will include weekends.
