Job summary

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Radiologists provide diagnostic and consultative patient care across military health services, working with Medical Radiation Technicians and leaders within CAF Health Services. Embedding in tertiary civilian hospitals maintains clinical currency while supporting CAF operations.

Opportunities include interventional techniques on overseas missions, education and research, and potential for subspecialty training and leadership roles within the military health system.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, rapid radiological interpretation of multimodality imaging, including CT, ultrasound (US) and X-ray
• Help guide surgical and medical treatment at a Canadian Forces Health Services Clinic or during deployments
• Maintain clinical currency by holding a position within a civilian health care facility
• In some cases, provide interventional skills for minimally invasive treatment of injuries on overseas missions
• Contribute to the development and application of health care policies within the CAF
