Overview

Mikros Animation is a global CGI animation creative studio. Providing filmmakers with top-tier animation and CGI services through a complete range of front and back-end creative services to bring unforgettable and stylized stories to life in every format, for every platform. We provide end-to-end animation services, uniting industry-leading talent across our global network of creative studios located in Montreal and Paris. We help filmmakers define and develop their vision from script to screen, making every project truly unique.

Responsibilities
  • Light and render shots using established lighting rigs and tools.
  • Match lighting across sequences and ensure consistency with lookdev and compositing.
  • Follow lighting directions provided by Leads and Supervisors.
  • Integrate 3D elements while maintaining consistency in light, color, and mood.
  • Maintain clean and organized scene files.
  • Implement feedback and corrections quickly and accurately.
  • Motivation to learn and grow in a production environment.
  • Communicate effectively with compositing, shading, and confo teams. Ask for support when facing technical or creative issues.
  • Participate in reviews and provide feedback on look and integration.
Qualifications
  • Solid proficiency in lighting tools and renderers (e.g., Katana, Maya, Arnold, etc.).
  • Good understanding of lighting theory, shading, and rendering passes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot render or lighting problems independently.
  • Good visual sense of color, composition, and light.
  • Team player with attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Nuke (or another node-based compositing software).
  • Basic English skills (spoken and written).

Optional skills:

  • Good understanding of rendering engines (Arnold, Renderman, Redshift, etc.).
  • Experience with ShotGrid or equivalent. Good understanding of color, lighting, and photography principles.
Additional Information

The person in this role will work closely with our Paris studio in a bilingual environment, as well as with international partners, talent, and clients. They will regularly interact with non-French-speaking stakeholders across various productions and strategic communications, in order to present and promote the creative and technical strengths of Mikros Animation on a global scale.
