Job summary

Aplin is seeking a Microsoft Fabric Platform Architect to guide the design, governance, and optimization of our enterprise analytics environment in Canada. You will help mature analytics capabilities, establish sustainable conventions, and drive governance across teams.

You will architect scalable Fabric solutions, develop semantic models for Power BI, and implement Purview-based metadata and access controls. This role emphasizes governance, cost awareness, and cross-team collaboration.

Microsoft Fabric Platform Architect

We are seeking a Microsoft Fabric Platform Architect to support the continued development, optimization, and governance of an enterprise analytics environment. This role will help assess the current state, establish sustainable practices, and mature analytics and data governance capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Design and optimize Microsoft Fabric platform architecture for scalability, security, and performance
• Develop and maintain enterprise semantic models and reporting standards (Power BI)
• Establish and govern workspace structures, access controls, and operating standards
• Support metadata management, lineage, cataloging, and governance using Microsoft Purview

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Strong expertise in Power BI semantic modeling
• Experience with Microsoft Purview and data governance practices
• Background supporting enterprise analytics platforms (architecture, standards, governance)

Nice to Have

• Experience formalizing governance frameworks (access models, naming standards, workspace strategies)
• Experience optimizing Fabric capacity/cost management and performance tuning
