Vancouver Island Health Authority in Courtenay is seeking an MRI Technologist to join a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting. Under supervision, you will perform MRI procedures, prepare supplies, monitor patients, and operate acquisition equipment.
You must have CAMRT certification, graduation from an accredited MRI program, and at least three years of related experience including two years MRI in an acute setting. CPR/first aid training may be required per site policy.

Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under general supervision, and reporting to the MRI supervisor or designate, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team providing client-centered care, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) special procedures. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports; preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; and operating acquisition equipment, including archiving acquired images, and computerized patient data systems.
Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program and designation as a certified Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Three (3) years recent, related experience, including two (2) years MRI experience in an acute setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
