Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Sudbury MHSW Depot Operator to manage daily depot operations and assist residents with waste handling. You will report to the HHW Depot Manager, sort and bulk waste, and ensure proper logging and PPE usage in a busy municipal facility.

The role requires clear communication with the public, ability to work on-site, and a valid G class driver’s license. Bilingual abilities are preferred to assist diverse residents and ensure efficient operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION: Sudbury MHSW Depot Operator

HOURS OF WORK: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, Saturdays when required

WORK REQUIREMENTS

• Report to and receive authorization from the HHW Depot Manager
• Receive, sort, pack, and bulk waste received from residents and the Toxic Taxi
• Have good communication skills while dealing with the public
• Bilingual is preferred
• Maintain a valid “G” Class driver’s license
• Ensure that the depot runs in an efficient and effective manner at all times
• Maintain clean grounds and facility
• Wear all of the required PPE at all times
• Work in a safe manner at all timesLight administrative duties - receiving and responding to phone calls and emails, data entry to Excel
• Ensure the information recorded on the logs is accurate prior to Depot Manager’s review
