Job summary

BMO Capital Markets is seeking an Equity Research Associate for the Metals and Mining coverage, based in Toronto. The role focuses on analyzing publicly traded metals & mining companies, building detailed financial models, and delivering timely research reports.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, 3+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Excel (Pivot, VBA) with Bloomberg and financial modeling expertise. This is an in-office role in Toronto.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in a related field; geology or engineering preferred.
• Master's degrees, CPA/CA and/or CFA charter-holders or those pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis of metals and mining companies.
• Assist senior analyst with industry and company analysis.
• Develop and maintain financial models to forecast performance.
• Analyze financial statements, market data and industry trends.
• Prepare research reports and investment recommendations.
• Monitor earnings and news for covered companies.
• Attend earnings calls and industry events.
• Develop large datasets of financial and industry data.
• Engage with sales, trading and clients; ensure compliance with policies.
