Job duties:

Reporting directly to Josh, you will be a primary asset to the company. You will play a crucial role in assessing, managing, producing, and completing various tasks, projects, components, and repairs. This role requires high entrepreneurial skills and a self-motivated workflow. We expect idea generation and project completion, either directly overseen by Josh or self-directed, to serve customer and market requirements.

Analyzing:
  • Understanding client demand and market deficiencies related to metal-based machines. Suggesting product line development to address workflow inefficiencies in the agriculture and construction industries.
Planning:
  • Designing products using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other 2D/3D modeling applications.
  • Collaborating with consultants to ensure products meet or exceed ISO and CSA standards.
  • Managing clients and project schedules to achieve company goals.
  • Ordering and receiving materials for projects.
  • Creating, editing, and maintaining cut-lists for various products.
  • Designing, creating, and managing jigs for product lines.
Operating:
  • Operating machinery such as presses, shears, rollers, brakes, bandsaws, plasma tables, and welders (SMAW/MMA).
  • Operating construction machinery like skid steers, forklifts, heavy trucks, and excavators.
  • Using hand tools for metalworking and woodworking, including saws, plasma cutters, torches (oxy, MAPP, propane), grinders, skill saws, sledges, and mallets.
  • Performing mobile repair and maintenance of customer internal machines as needed.
  • Assisting with shoreline construction divisions for shoreline stabilization work.
Terms of employment:

Permanent and full-time.

Skills requirements:
Required education:
  • A diploma from a Mechanical Technician program (preferred).
  • Completion of a Millwright Mechanical course (preferred).
Required work experience:
  • At least 2 years as a metal fabricator.
  • At least 6 months using 2D/3D design software.
  • Strong entrepreneurial skills for project management.
  • Excellent client and customer relationship skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to design, plan, and fabricate products for agriculture and construction industries.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, static machinery, and heavy machinery.
  • Flexibility to meet production or client deadlines.
  • Experience with various materials such as wood, steel, and plastics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-directed workflow management.
  • Construction-related experience is an asset.
