Job summary

East Coast Metalworks Inc. in Darlington, PEI, is seeking a Metal Fabricator/Ironworker to transform raw materials into finished components. You will interpret blueprints, prepare material, cut and shape with handheld tools and CNC equipment, and assemble metal parts from steel, stainless, and aluminum.

Full-time position with 44 hours per week and overtime after 44 hours. Certifications (Red Seal) are assets, but delivering quality work is the priority and strong communication is essential for

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and sketches (CAD/CAM or similar).
• Strong communication skills and teamwork in a trades environment.
• Problem solving and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to follow instructions and produce quality work consistently.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and customer sketches.
• Prepare material with tools and machinery.
• Cut and shape using handheld tools and CNC equipment.
• Assemble metal components (steel, stainless, aluminum).
• Produce quality finished products within deadlines.
• Certifications are assets but quality work is priority.
• Maintain valid driver’s license to tow with a trailer.
• Communicate clearly with team and supervisors.

Metal Fabricator / Ironworker

A Metal Fabricator is a skilled tradesperson responsible for transforming raw materials into finished components, structures, or machinery.

Core responsibilities

• Blueprint interpretation of both cad drawings and customer sketches
• Material preparation using hand held tools and heavy machinery
• Cutting and shaping using handheld tools and CNC equipment
• Assembly of various types of metal including steel, stainless and aluminum
• Ability to produce a quality finished product in a timely manner
• Certifications are an asset but the main priority would be the ability to produce quality work
• Valid drivers license and the ability to drive with a trailer
• Excellent communication skills a must
