Job summary

Magna International in Brampton is seeking skilled fabricators to weld and fabricate components for automotive applications. The role involves performing welding and cutting operations, fitting, aligning, and welding components, and designing tools, with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will work in a fast-paced team, follow ISO SOPs, mentor on continuous improvements, and contribute to world-class products for global customers. Regular/permanent position in Cosma International group.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years fabrication experience and ability to read drawings.
• Welding mild steels with knowledge of fabrication tools required.
• Automotive tooling experience is an asset.
• Ability to work in a team and independently with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Trade certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Good communication skills are essential.
• Must have own tools for the job.
• Capacity to design or modify tools as needed.
• Adherence to safety rules and ISO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and cutting operations for repair and fabrication tasks.
• Fit, align and weld various components to specifications.
• Design, modify, and fabricate specialized tools and equipment.
• Operate drills, torches and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Lock out energy sources and follow safety protocols at all times.
• Consult supervisor if task safety is in doubt.
• Adhere to all safety rules, standards and procedures.
• Use appropriate PPE and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Support continuous improvements and report unusual circumstances.
• Follow ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality.

PAY RATE :

$25 to $29 CAD

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform sequence of various welding and cutting operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work
• Fit, align and weld various components
• Design, modify and fabricate special tools and equipment
• Operate various machines, tools and related equipment (drill press, torches, hand tools) etc.
• Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy
• Consult your Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks in a safe manner
• Follow all safety rules, standards and procedures at all times in all areas
• Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for the jobs in your area and always use them properly
• Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce good quality products
• Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvements
• Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world class quality products are supplied to our customers
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
