Job description

We are seeking an experienced MES Project Manager to lead and govern a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation on behalf of Gilead. This role will be responsible for overall project delivery, stakeholder coordination, vendor oversight, implementation governance, and alignment across manufacturing, quality, validation, operations, and IT teams. The ideal candidate has experience overseeing MES programs within regulated manufacturing environments and can effectively bridge business, manufacturing, and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead overall governance and delivery of the MES implementation, maintaining accountability for project scope, timeline, budget, and deliverables.

Manage project plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, KPIs, and executive-level status reporting.

Coordinate activities across IT, manufacturing, quality, validation, business stakeholders, and implementation partners.

Facilitate project meetings, steering committees, governance reviews, and stakeholder workshops.

Oversee vendor performance and ensure alignment with contractual obligations and project objectives.

Ensure the MES implementation follows industry best practices and promotes a standards-driven approach.

Minimize unnecessary customization by leveraging standard MES capabilities whenever possible.

Support alignment between MES capabilities, manufacturing processes, operational workflows, equipment requirements, and business needs.

Provide guidance on MES integration with enterprise and operational technologies, including ERP, SCADA, PLC, cloud, and related systems.

Partner with Quality and Validation teams to ensure alignment with quality requirements and validation strategies.

Required Qualifications

Experience leading or governing MES implementation programs.

Strong project and program management experience, including risk management, issue resolution, stakeholder engagement, and vendor oversight.

Understanding of manufacturing operations, business processes, and MES best practices.

Experience working with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, quality, validation, operations, and IT.

Knowledge of manufacturing system integrations and digital manufacturing environments.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

Experience with MES platforms such as Werum PAS-X, Emerson Syncade, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell PharmaSuite, or similar solutions.

Knowledge of ERP, SCADA, PLC, OT, and enterprise system integrations.

Familiarity with validation, compliance, and quality processes supporting manufacturing systems.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $74.74/hour - $116.79/hour. Our offered benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
