Job summary

Kent Building Supplies is looking for a Merchandising Associate in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, to enhance product presentation and drive sales. This one-year term position requires someone with a self-starter mindset, capable of collaborating with the ReSET Team while executing merchandising tasks.

The ideal candidate will have merchandising experience, light carpentry skills, and reliable transportation for travel between locations. Safety being a priority, CSA approved steel-toed boots are required. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 6am to 3pm, with occasional weekends.

Job Description

Merchandising Associate will take part in achieving our goal of improving and standardizing our product presentation to enhance the customer shopping experience and drive sales. This role is responsible for assigned merchandising reset and service-related tasks as outlined in product planograms and other merchandising execution documents. This is a one-year term position to cover a maternity leave, subject to business needs. The role requires reliable personal transportation, with regular travel between the Halifax location (225 Chain Lake Drive) and the Lower Sackville location (888 Sackville Drive).

Responsibilities

• Execution of merchandising resets provided by Planogram Team.
• Support roll-out of merchandising projects for end caps, dump bins, and other promotional spaces.
• Merchandising seasonal spaces.
• Executing merchandising plans for special promotions and advertising campaigns.
• Ensure displays are properly functioning, bay sets are clean, priced, down-stocked, front faced and detailed.
• Working hours 6am-3pm, Monday to Friday with occasional weekends as per the needs of the business.

Qualifications

• Enjoy merchandising and adapt to constant change; merchandising experience is an asset.
• Light carpentry experience with hand tools, drills and saws.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Smartphone proficient with the ability to use various apps for bay maintenance and reporting.
• Prioritize safety at all times.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to collaborate and work closely with the ReSET Team daily.
• Task and results oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Own reliable transportation for frequent travel between Lower Sackville and Bayers Lake (Halifax).
• CSA approved steel-toed boots are required.
• 18+ years of age with ability to work at heights due to machine training requirement.
