Job summary

University of British Columbia seeks a Counsellor – Varsity Athletics Mental Health & Performance to provide mental health and performance services to varsity student-athletes, including single-session counselling, triage, and referrals to stepped-care resources.

You will develop and deliver wellbeing programming, consult with coaches and Athletics staff, and support athletes across training and competition cycles.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field; eligible for certification in BC.
• Minimum of five years of experience in clinical counselling plus experience supervising Master's level practicum students.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health and mental performance services to varsity student-athletes.
• Provide single-session and short-term counselling and triage.
• Develop and deliver wellbeing programming, workshops and interventions.
• Consult with Athletics coaches and staff on student mental health and wellbeing.

Education

Master's degree in Counselling Psychology or related field

Eligible for professional certification in British Columbia
