Job Description

Provides ongoing mental health and psychosocial client services. Services delivered include screening and assessing client needs and determining relevant treatment plans. Initiates or participates in community development initiatives, participating in PHC initiatives evaluation within site. Promotes quality health care outcomes working within established standards of practice to ensure that clients receive a high standard of primary health care. This will be done in accordance with organization mission statement, policies and procedures. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement

Education
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
Licenses

  • Ability to advocate on behalf of clients, caregivers /extended family members.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate level of professional conduct and judgement.
  • Knowledge in quality improvement theory and methodologies
  • Ability to conduct a suicide risk assessment with other health care providers
  • Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention and prevention programs
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge in substance abuse and addictions, including cause and effect
