Recovery Alberta is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to join our Fort McMurray team. You will deliver individual, family and group therapy, provide crisis intervention, and work within a multidisciplinary team to support clients with mental health needs.

The role involves travel to rural communities, evenings as required, and may include relocation assistance, housing support, and a Fort McMurray allowance. A driver’s license and eligible registration are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work (clinical) or Occupational Therapy with mental health training.
• Active or eligible registration with Alberta regulatory college.
• Willingness to travel to rural communities and a valid Class V driver’s license.

Responsabilités

The role also offers variety, including evening work as required, with eligible evening hours attracting shift differential premiums.This position may be eligible for relocation assistance and housing support, pending availability and approval and may qualify for a recruitment incentive of up to $60,000, based on the length of Return for Service. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A valid Class V driver’s license and willingness to travel to rural communities. Availability to work evenings as required. Restricted Psychosocial Interventions (RAPI).
