Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician to join the Primary Care department in a team-based, interprofessional environment. You will assess, plan, and implement care for individuals and families facing mental health or addiction challenges, within physician practices, homes, schools, and communities.

The role emphasizes collaboration, patient-centered care, and applying best practices, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30, in the Houston area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Allied Health, Behavioral or Social Science field plus two years' recent health setting experience.
• Current valid BC driver's license.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Are you a Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Primary Care department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, and with Northern Health's vision of an idealized system of services where people and their families receive primary care services in Primary Care Homes supported by interprofessional teams, this position functions as a member of the interprofessional team and applies best practices to provide competent, safe and ethical care for people and their families in settings such as physician practices, homes, schools and communities. Through assessment and involvement of each person and their family, the Primary Care MHSU Clinician develops and implements a plan of care and intervention to assist the person in managing their mental health or addiction challenges. The Primary Care MHSU Clinician will provide care according to the person's care plan and the person's personal goals.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30

Qualfications

• Bachelor's degree (from an accredited educational institution) in an Allied Health, Behavioral or Social Science field relevant to the position plus two (2) years recent, experience in a health setting working with complex care clients with a combination of mental health and/or addiction issues. Or equivalent related knowledge, skills, and experience.
• Current valid BC driver's license.

• Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Windows based programs. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
• Ability: Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
