A community health organization in Prince George seeks a Mental Health Crisis Peer Support Worker to assist individuals in crisis. The role involves providing culturally-safe crisis response and support. Ideal candidates are experienced in mental health, possess relevant certifications, and are prepared to work shifts. Competitive starting wage of $33/hr–$35/hr based on experience.

Mental Health Crisis Peer Support Worker (Full Time)
Crisis Response, Community Led (CRCL) - Health Services
The PGNFC Crisis Response, Community Led (CRCL) provides an alternative to the presence of police personnel at mental health crisis calls in Prince George. The teams offer crisis support services that integrate cultural safety protocols and holistic care options. Mobile teams comprise of a mental health professional and a peer (someone with lived or living experience) which are available during scheduled service hours under the supervision of a clinician and team lead.
This program aims to reduce the harms experienced by people who have or are suffering a mental health crisis. The Mental Health Crisis Worker will incorporate knowledge and experiences in crisis assessment and intervention, de-escalation, harm reduction, suicide prevention, anti-oppressive practice, client-centred and recovery-oriented care, trauma-informed practice, and culturally competent care to support individuals and families experiencing a crisis in Prince George.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants of Canadian Indigenous ancestry. We encourage all candidates to self-identify. Our process is protected by the BC Human Rights Tribunal under Non-Profit Exemption.
