The Medical Secretary will provide secretarial services supporting the clinical work of physicians.

Skills And Qualifications Required
  • Medical Office Administration Diploma
  • Minimum two years experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Position Responsibilities
  • Ensures that the client and related clinical work receives the highest priority
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding personal health information and information relating to Providence Care
  • Schedules patients/clients for appointments and pre-registers the information into the patient care system for activity occurring at Providence Care Hospital.
  • Consults with physician and team members to ensure that appropriate services are provided to the client, and liaises with other organizations and/or services involved
  • Types memos and letters, and other required documentation as needed
  • Demonstrated word processing/keyboarding of 55 wpm
  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products and ability to learn new software programs
