Medical Secretary

We are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to work as part of our friendly and versatile paediatric secretarial team. You will be based at the Royal Alex Children’s Hospital, Brighton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with NHS colleagues, patients and relatives via email, telephone and face‑to‑face.
  • Prioritise workload, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Adapt and embrace change.
  • Consideration for job share where appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of secretarial / administrative experience.
  • Experience in a hospital or similar environment is desirable.
  • Experience in audio typing.
  • IT literate (Word, Excel, outlook).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
  • Experience working in the NHS is desirable.
Person Specification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication ability.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
