This MRT I position performs quality general radiology and portable examinations in the busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department at the Cardston Health Centre. Close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor and management is required. Located in Cardston the Health Centre is an acute care facility that services a large area of southwestern Alberta. Description

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
• Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

• MRT technologist with strong radiation safety and technical skills in general radiology and portables required.
• Demonstrated positive attitude and good work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Connect Care and AGFA PACS proficiency an asset.
• Superuser training or additional responsibilities in the department an asset.
• AHS annual continuing education and ACMDTT education requirements up to date and applicable additional courses preferred.
• Demonstrated participation in AHS Diagnostic Imaging Quality program/Peervue.
• Experience and aptitude in mentoring students an asset.
