Overview

Job Title: Medical Radiation Technologist (X-Ray / CT / MRI / Nuclear Technologist)

Reporting to: Clinic Leader / Regional Leader

Locations: Various locations across Ontario including Milton & Mississauga, Brampton, Newmarket, Orangeville, North York, Thornhill, Toronto, London, Sarnia, Simcoe, Sault Ste. Marie, Scarborough, Pickering, Oshawa & Whitby and Lindsay. Vacancies are open across multiple locations and employees may be assigned to one or more locations depending on scheduling needs.

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (Day, Evening, Flexible Hours, Overtime, Weekend)

Wage: $46 CAD per hour

Responsibilities
  • Maintain all company standards including quality of work and results, test procedure and methodology, turnaround time, confidentiality of test results; assist and/or provide training as required.
  • Ensure patients’ comfort and confidence in the competence and professionalism of the centre and its staff.
  • Prepare reports, answer technical questions, and demonstrate knowledge of company procedures and standards related to examinations, booking system reporting procedures, turnaround time, equipment, and training requirements.
  • Operate and maintain equipment via participation in Quality Control and Quality Assurance tests.
  • Maintain personal development through training courses to upgrade technical skills, abilities and knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned and be able to work in various shifts.
  • May perform X-ray, radiographic or fluoroscopic, CT, or mammography to produce imaging and high-quality diagnostic radiographs, adhering to radiation safety procedures and aseptic techniques. (X-Ray/CT)
  • May perform radiation detection through gamma cameras, scanners, scintillation counters, tomodensitometers and ionization chambers for nuclear medicine purposes. (Nuclear Technologists)
  • May perform MRI scanning to produce anatomical images for radiologists.
Qualifications, Experience & Requirements

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.

Work Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.

Current and valid Certificate of Registration with the Association of Medical Radiation Technologists in the relevant province.

Knowledge and proficiency in general nuclear medicine procedures.

Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.

Maintain competence in position by attending staff meetings.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, good command of English, accuracy, dependability, flexibility, judgment, reliability and ability to work as part of a team; attention to detail.

Ability to work varying shifts and independently as well as in a fast-paced environment.

Self-evaluate performance, establish personal objectives and participate in yearly staff performance reviews.

Personal: Have a cheerful, positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others as well as independently, treating everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness.
