Overview

Looking for a PERMANENT FULL-TIME Medical Office Assistant for a busy specialist OBGYN office in the West End. Our ideal candidate must have obtained a medical office diploma/certificate from a recognized educational institution, be able to work in a team environment and have experience working in a medical office, particularly obstetrics and gynaecology.

Reception duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, consults and follow-up.
  • Use of Telus PS Suite EMR and Netcare.
  • Connect care knowledge.
  • Process referrals for our clinic, both incoming and outgoing, verify patient healthcare coverage, welcome and register patients.
  • Generate and maintain accurate patient files. Obtain patient height, weight and blood pressure.
  • Guide patients to exam rooms, sanitize rooms between patients, autoclaving instruments.

Excellent communication in English (oral and written) and organizational skills. Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to prioritize and demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines. Commitment to client service and confidentiality with a positive and professional approach. Adaptable to change and willing to learn new tasks on a regular basis. Commitment to teamwork and excellence in patient care.

This is an opportunity for a Permanent full-time front reception position. Our clinic is open 5 days per week 0830H to 1630H Monday to Friday. Compensation will be based on previous experience and education.
