Position Summary

Are you a registered Medical Laboratory Technologist, Microbiology looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Laboratory department.

Under the direction of the Charge Tech (Microbiology), performs routine Microbiology tests and specimen processing procedures.

Shift Rotation / Hours of Work

Evenings - 15:00 to 22:00, 17:00 to 22:00, Rotating.

University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest Acute Care facility within the Northern Health region, and a hub for specialized health services. It is also a teaching hospital:

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program; R.T. (General) or R.T. Subject Microbiology.
  • Eligible for certification from the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relations with patients, laboratory and hospital personnel, and medical staff.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail over extended periods.
  • Ability to keep abreast of technological developments in the field.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
