Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for a permanent full-time position in the OPEZ PLM Laboratory Services SRH. The role involves performing analytical tests, operating automated systems, and ensuring QA throughout patient and environmental laboratories.

Successful candidates must be graduates of an approved MLT program, licensed with NSRMLS or eligible, CSMLS registered, and able to work weekends/holidays. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an approved Medical Laboratory Technologist program.
• Must be licensed with NSRMLS or eligible.
• CSMLS registration required.
• Ability to work shiftwork (weekends/holidays as required).
• Willingness to travel when required.
• Competencies in other languages—French preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests and procedures using approved methodologies and QA techniques.
• Operates manual and automated instruments; handles computer-integrated systems.
• Reviews results against reference intervals and reports with independent judgment.
