About The Job

East Kootenay Regional Hospital is a 75‑bed acute care facility with a medium‑size Laboratory offering Core Lab, Microbiology, Histology and Pathology services. It is a regional referral site for selected testing and employs 30 Medical Laboratory Technologists and 25 Medical Laboratory Assistants across various disciplines.

Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing specimens for analysis, performing routine laboratory tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.69) opportunity.
