East Kootenay Regional Hospital is a 75-bed acute care hospital with a medium-sized Laboratory offering Core Lab, Microbiology, Histology, Pathology, collections, and accession services. It is considered a regional referral site for selected testing, with 30 Medical Laboratory Technologists and 25 Medical Laboratory Assistants employed in various disciplines.
Medical Laboratory Assistants perform duties such as collecting blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing specimens for analysis, performing routine laboratory tests, distributing specimens, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.
This is a Permanent Full-Time (1.00) opportunity until the return of the incumbent.
