Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Northwestern Ontario is hiring a Medical Laboratory Assistant to support patient care within a PFCC framework. You will perform accessioning, pre-analytical work, and assist in multiple lab disciplines, under supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety.

The role requires MLA diploma with MLPAO/CSLMLS certification, and you will contribute to a strong pension program (HOOPP) and a comprehensive benefits package, in a values-driven team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have MLA diploma from an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.
• MLPAO or CSLMLS certification is required.

Responsabilités

• Accessioning/receipt of specimens (Meditech).
• Batching and dispatch of specimens; organize referral specimens.
• Pre-analytical work across lab disciplines (FlowCytometry, POCT, Microbiology, Core Lab, Pathology).
• Operate equipment; troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance.
• Train and mentor staff.
• Inventory receipt and stock maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety protocols.
• Cleaning and decontamination of work areas.
• Any other assigned duties.
