DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides clerical support to areas in Medical Imaging; General Radiography, CT, IR, US, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, Billings and Imaging Records
  • Schedules and registers imaging referrals and exams using a computerized system, ensuring efficient coordination and smooth patient flow.
  • Receives patients at reception areas and completes the registration process.
  • Provides clear and concise information to patients as related to Medical Imaging appointments and requirements.
  • Processes and verifies information on referrals, registers and updates patient details as required.
  • Assists patients in receiving Medical Imaging records as required.
  • Reviews and processes exam billing and rejections to and from the MOH.
  • Actively participates in team building concepts.
  • Performs other clerical support duties as required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Assists with training and orientation in all clerical areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in medical/diagnostic imaging required.
  • One to two (1-2) years’ minimum experience in related clerical or administrative role.
  • Two to three (2-3) years’ hospital related experience an asset.
  • Medical Office Administration/Assistant or similar designation required.
  • A Medical Terminology course or related job experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written/verbal), organization and time management skills.
  • Exemplary telephone manner is mandatory.
  • Quick, accurate data entry skills a must.
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Understanding and commitment to the Hospital Mission and Values.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to providing outstanding customer service and patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team‑based, fast‑paced pressurized environment.
  • Demonstrated ability of strong organizational skills required, with the ability to effectively prioritize a diverse and demanding workload.
  • Must be flexible, punctual and have an excellent attendance record.
  • Must be flexible to rotate through all areas of Medical Imaging and provide clerical support.
  • Must be flexible in start times and be able to work all shifts (days, evenings, nights and weekends).
  • Must be available to work on short notice.

Shifts are subject to change as per departmental needs.
