Job summary

Blood Tribe Department of Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Driver for the Home Care program. You will transport clients safely under the supervision of the HCA Supervisor and ensure all Home Care vehicles operate safely.

The role requires a Class 4 driver's license with a clean driving abstract, CPR and First Aid certifications, and TDG qualification. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class 4 driver's license and clean driving record.
• CPR certification required and to be renewed annually.
• First Aid certification required and renewed every three years.
• Current Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to set priorities and manage multiple demands.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of proper body mechanics for lifting and transferring.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients safely as part of Home Care program.
• Ensure all Home Care vehicles are operating safely and maintained.
• Provide quality health service during transport and interactions.
• Work under supervision of the HCA Supervisor and follow program procedures.

PROGRAM: Home Care
REPORTS TO: HCA Supervisor

SUMMARY OF WORK:

Under the Supervision of the Health Care Aide Supervisor, the Medical Drivers are an integral part of the Home Care program and will ensure Clients are transported safely with the highest quality health service. AS well, ensure all vehicles in the Home Care program are operating safely.

PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:

• Have current Class 4 Driver’s license and clean drivers abstract. Other certifications/competencies as required by the organization:
  • Current CPR certification, to be re-certified annually
  • First Aid, to be re-certified every three years
  • Current Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
• Have necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction.
• Set priorities in the face of multiple demands.
  • Have organizational skills
  • Have time management skills
• Ability to function independently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Apply proper body mechanic principles.
  • Able to sit, walk, transfer, life, carry equipment and supplies.

SALARY RANGE:

• As per Salary Grid established by BTDH Inc.
