This hands-on role emphasizes developing assembly methods, tooling and fixtures, technician training, and close collaboration with R&D and external partners to enable scalable quantum hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years in developing assembly processes in advanced hardware environments.
• Autonomy and dependability with proactive learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize assembly procedures and standards for QPUs in cleanroom settings.
• Design, specify, and implement assembly tooling, fixtures, workstations, and process controls for R&D and production builds.
• Prototype semi-automated assembly processes and equipment to improve precision and throughput.
• Establish best practices for assembly, handling and integration of quantum hardware components.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and training programs.
• Define and monitor key process metrics: yield, cycle time, throughput.
• Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions for defects and process variability.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and DFA principles.
