Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer II to lead design deliverables for North American airport baggage handling projects. You will translate customer requirements into mechanical designs, develop 2D drawings and 3D models, and support installation and commissioning.

Collaborate with Project Leads and multidisciplinary teams, manage scope and schedules, document decisions, and support continuous improvement of engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in mechanical design, industrial systems, automation, or material handling.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer drawings, specifications, and project requirements into mechanical design deliverables.
• Develop and modify 2D drawings, installation drawings, and supporting engineering documentation.
• Create and maintain 3D models utilizing Autodesk tools.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate resolution with other disciplines.
• Conduct spatial analyses of maintenance access, clearances, and installation constraints.
• Compute system and component-level calculations (throughput, motor power, etc.).
• Coordinate engineering deliverables with Electrical, Controls, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams.
• Document engineering decisions through design reports and field support documentation.
• Support site surveys, installation activities, commissioning, and issue resolution.
