Position Overview

Reporting to the responsible Project Manager, this role will support work within the DNNP. The Project Coordinator coordinates the planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering, including in the production and execution of project documentation including Construction Work Packages within their defined scope.

Location

The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of Comprehensive Work Package in cooperation with construction, engineering and quality department.
  • Provides status report of project milestones and make adjustment to fabrication/installation schedules and overall execution.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design specifications, as built drawings, required quality documentation, NCR turnover documents, etc.
  • Provides assurance that activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs and applicable procedures.
  • Provides and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between the designer and construction teams in terms of information flow and problem resolution.
  • Forecasts and tracks change orders and scope changes.
  • Coordinates all site procurement activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, materials material tracking and ensuring traceability of works.
  • Establishes and maintain interfaces with suppliers and construction teams.
  • Develops and writes detailed work plans in cooperation with construction superintendents.
  • Maintains high standards related to final product quality.
  • Performs regular field tours to check work progress and meet with project site personnel.
  • Carry out site safety inspections.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives aimed at overall continuous improvement.
  • Develop, write and maintain detailed work plans in cooperation with construction leads.
  • Identifies risks to the Project Manager and identifies actions for entering the action tracking log.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc.
Qualifications
  • Post secondary education in Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • A master’s degree in a related field is considered an asset.
  • 5+ Years of experience in project engineering in a construction or EPC environment, focusing on mechanical works.
  • Welding experience is strongly preferred.
  • Have or pursuing P.Eng is considered an asset.
  • Experience working under a Nuclear Quality Program preferred and considered an asset.
