Job summary

HH Angus is seeking an experienced Mechanical Manager to lead tenant fit-out and renovation projects across a diverse commercial portfolio. You will manage and mentor a team of engineers, designers, CAD staff, and project managers to deliver high-quality mechanical designs in a fast-paced environment.

You will guide technical teams, ensure project alignment with client expectations, and foster design excellence while growing your own leadership skills.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• P.Eng with PEO certification required.
• 10+ years of engineering consulting experience.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Leads, manages, and mentors a team of engineers, designers, CAD staff, and project managers to deliver projects on time.
• Provides clear communication on team skillset, resourcing and development to Senior Manager and Associate Director.
• Primarily responsible for managing, retaining, and developing staff members.
• Identifies and staffs projects, either directly or through Project Managers.
• Acts as a primary relationship manager for a select group of clients.
• Monitors status of projects through Project Managers.
• Engages in performance management cycle for direct reports.
• Responsible for project billings and expenses of team with manager review and approval.
• Responsible for financial performance of the projects that they invoice for.
• Approves time sheets of team members.
• Actively participates in divisional operations meeting.

MAKE AN IMPACT THAT MATTERS

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Manager to join our growing Commercial group and in this role, you’ll support tenant fit-out and renovation projects across a diverse commercial portfolio, working in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment.

In this role, you’ll combine strong mechanical engineering expertise with proven people and project leadership. You’ll support and guide technical teams, contribute to high-quality mechanical designs, and help ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with client expectations. You’ll play an important role in mentoring engineers, fostering technical excellence, and maintaining consistent design quality across projects.

This role suits someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working closely with clients and teams, and is motivated to grow their technical skills while delivering practical, well‑executed design solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provides clear communication on team skillset, resourcing and development to Senior Manager and Associate Director

TOTAL REWARDS

The expected salary for this role is between $100,000 to $140,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness. Along with your base salary we offer a wide array of programs that include our Short Term Incentive bonus program, technical and business training, mentoring, wellness initiatives, the opportunity to participate in our coveted Defined Benefit Pension plan, flexible work arrangement, and hybrid work structure.
