Job summary

A leading engineering group in Toronto is seeking a candidate with a mechanical engineering background to develop work instructions and enhance workshop performance. The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in an industrial environment and proficiency in English. Occasional travel and shift flexibility are required for this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an industrial workshop, ideally in the commissioning of new machines/tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work instructions for the implementation of new equipment.

  • Create complete technical and management documentation.

  • Ensure safe work methods comply with regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop work instructions for the implementation of our new equipment

  • Define work methods to improve the quality and execution time of tasks performed

  • Participate in resolving manufacturing issues in collaboration with suppliers, design engineers, and the production line

  • Create complete technical and management documentation in collaboration with various stakeholders (production, engineering, quality, logistics, etc.)

  • Research and propose technical and economic solutions to improve workshop performance

  • Ensure that work methods are safe and comply with health and safety regulations

  • Participate in engaging workshop employees

Qualifications
  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in an industrial environment

  • English proficiency (spoken and written)

  • French is an asset

  • Experience in an industrial workshop, ideally in the commissioning of new machines/tools

  • Experience in a unionized environment

  • Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel

  • Available for occasional travel

  • Available to work all shifts occasionally
