Our client is a top mechanical contractor that is offering stability and growth. They are currently seeking an accomplished and dynamic mechanical contracting professional for a Regional General Manager opportunity that will lead all operations across mainland Nova Scotia from their growing Dartmouth office.

This senior leader will be responsible for driving regional performance, overseeing project execution, strengthening client relationships, and advancing the company’s expansion throughout the province. With a blend of operational oversight, business development, team leadership, and strategic planning, this role offers the opportunity to shape the organization’s continued long‑term success in the Atlantic market while helping to build a high‑performing local team!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all operations for mainland Nova Scotia, ensuring efficient, safe, and high‑quality performance across all projects and services.
  • Represent the company in their Nova Scotia market through strong client, supplier, and industry relationships.
  • Identify, pursue, and support new business opportunities, tenders, and proposals.
  • Support executive leadership in strategic planning, regional growth, and corporate initiatives.
  • Promote the team’s culture and atmosphere, ensuring a positive and collaborative workplace.
  • Oversee and, when needed, directly manage projects from planning through close‑out.
  • Build and monitor project schedules; manage manpower, resources, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure quality control, compliance with drawings and specifications, and adherence to the company’s safety standards.
  • Complete and review pricing, estimating, tenders, and change notices.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, COR forms, inspections, and site correspondence.
  • Manage regional financial performance, including overhead, project budgets, service revenue, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Complete or oversee monthly progress billings, project cost updates, weekly payroll entries, and service billings.
  • Ensure timely communication of costs, changes, and financial data to accounting and administration.
  • Oversee the scheduling and deployment of staff, equipment, and resources across multiple projects.
  • Ensure all company vehicles, equipment, facilities, and offices are maintained.
  • Champion safety across all regional operations and ensure compliance with the team’s Safety Program and COR standards.
  • Conduct site visits, safety follow‑ups, and quality assurance checks.
  • Ensure deficiencies and corrective actions are addressed promptly and thoroughly.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Nova Scotia team, supporting hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management in conjunction with various counterparts from head office.
  • Foster a positive, team‑focused culture aligned with company values.
  • Ensure the region remains a workplace where employees feel supported, valued, and engaged.
  • Serve as the primary regional point of contact for clients, ensuring strong communication and exceptional service.
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships to support repeat business and regional growth.
  • Assist with estimating, tender review, pricing, and business development initiatives.
  • Attend quarterly meetings at Corporate Headquarters in Ontario.
  • Attend virtual meetings with the Executive Leadership team as required.
