Mechanical Equipment Engineer

Location: Alliston, ON

Shift: Days | Permanent | On-site

What You’ll Do
  • Design new and existing equipment and manage projects from concept to implementation
  • Conduct technical investigations, troubleshooting, and update equipment specifications
  • Lead installation and construction projects, coordinating contractors and vendors
  • Identify and implement countermeasures for quality concerns and cycle time issues
  • Support Equipment Services and Production teams as needed
  • Prepare reports for downtime, RCA, and project status updates
  • Create and review assembly/layout drawings using Catia and AutoCAD
  • Collaborate with departments like Quality, Safety, and Purchasing on equipment design and procurement
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma
  • Ability to interpret mechanical schematics and drawings
  • Hands-on experience with automation equipment (hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, conveyors)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Valid G-Class Driver’s License and ability to travel (Canadian Passport or B1 Visa)
  • Willingness to support overtime, shift changes, and production as required
Preferred Experience
  • Industrial/manufacturing engineering experience
  • PLC programming and HMI knowledge
  • Familiarity with Ontario Electrical Safety Code, safeguarding standards, and PHSR requirements
  • Project management skills: scope development, scheduling, budgeting
  • Experience with Catia, AutoCAD, and sustainability initiatives
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
