Qualifications

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Hydro Mechanical Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage and coordinate all aspects of hydro generating projects, including design, planning, construction, and commissioning. You will also play a vital role in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, cost‑effectively, and safely while meeting the highest quality standards.

This position may be remote, depending on the candidate's skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management

Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Engineering Coordination

Oversee the engineering and design of mechanical components for hydro generating systems.

Installation Oversight

Supervise the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment associated with hydro generating projects.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Deliverables Review

Review and approve project deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.

Communication

Provide clear, effective communication to customers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.

Project Monitoring

Monitor and report on project quality, progress, and performance.

Compliance

Ensure all projects are executed in compliance with safety standards, timelines, and budgets.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the planning, design, construction, or commissioning of hydro generating projects.
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership on complex projects.
  • Strong proficiency in project management software, including MS Project and MS Excel.
  • P6 scheduling experience is an asset.
  • Must possess a valid Class G driver's license.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
  • Must currently reside in and be legally employable in Canada (U.S. candidates are encouraged to view U.S. postings).
  • Preference: Experience in hydroelectric projects is essential.
