Job summary

EXP is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) to join the Infrastructure & Transportation team in New Liskeard, Ontario. This full-time, permanent position offers opportunities to lead pump and piping design across diverse projects within a global engineering firm.

You will mentor junior staff, perform QA/QC, develop design basis, and coordinate with field teams on site visits. A Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and a P.Eng. designation are preferred, with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of pump and piping design experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer preferred.
  • 3D modeling experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and direct less experienced mechanical staff on design of pumps and piping systems.
  • Perform QA/QC review of specifications, reports, code application, RFI and submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables and drawings.
  • QA/QC reviews all calculations by designers and provide guidance and mentoring.
  • Determine content of drawings and specs for less experienced staff to meet scope.
  • Review code-related items with Designers and ensure compliance.
  • Edit and develop basis of design narratives documenting project scope.
  • Write new specifications sections and develop new details for project needs.
  • Write studies and reports for systems on projects.
  • Apply and modify controls diagrams for the project.
  • Modify sequences of operation for air and water side equipment and systems.
  • Critically evaluate contractor pricing and cost estimates.
  • Travel to project sites to review progress and solve problems within time and budget.
  • Develop and monitor work plans.

Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the infrastructure team, of the Infrastructure & Transportation, based in New Liskeard, ON office and have the opportunity to work on various projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

What Your Experience Looks Like
  • Candidate should have an engineering Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of pump and piping design experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer Preferred
  • 3D Modeling experience will be considered an asset

The salary range for this role is between $92K - $120K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
