Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Building Mechanical Engineer for Canada-based high-speed rail projects. The role involves designing mechanical systems, coordinating with multidiscipline teams, and supporting project managers to meet energy efficiency and sustainability standards.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, P.Eng with Ontario licensure, at least 5 years in the field, and proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD and Revit. Hybrid work and competitive compensation are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• P.Eng with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) registration is required.
• Minimum 5 years of building Mechanical engineering experience in a consulting firm.
• Experience in project coordination is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Revit is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and support building mechanical systems (plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, controls) in accordance with energy efficiency standards.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports; provide technical support to PMs and design teams.
• Perform design calculations and cost estimates for construction work.
• Coordinate and conduct site follow-ups, monitor construction activities and resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary mechanical and electrical design teams to meet client requirements, schedules and budgets.
• Communicate with clients in collaboration with project directors to coordinate all activities (technical, contractual, financial).
• Assess risks and propose optimal strategies to ensure project success.

Your Role

• Design and support the design of building mechanical systems (plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, controls) in compliance with energy efficiency and sustainability standards, within a strong and skilled project team and an effective technological environment.


• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports, while providing technical support to project managers and design teams.


• Perform design-related calculations and cost estimates for construction work.


• Carry out coordination and site follow-up, including monitoring construction activities and resolving technical issues.


• Coordinate the work of the multidisciplinary building mechanical and electrical design team to ensure compliance with client requirements, project schedules, and budgets.


• Coordinate all project activities (technical, contractual, and financial) and ensure communication with the client, in collaboration with project directors.


• Assess risks and propose optimal strategies to ensure project success.

About You

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.


• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).


• Has at least 5 years of relevant experience in building Mechanical engineering within a consulting engineering firm.


• Has relevant experience in project coordination.


• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit.
