One of our clients in the Peterborough, ON region focused on Nuclear projects is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join on a long term contract basis.

Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and execute the design, analysis, testing, and commissioning activities for complex mechanical equipment and systems throughout the entire product life cycle. This role involves preparing, approving, or leading the creation of design documentation, including technical documents, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs). You will also develop technical specifications, test plans, and engineering quotations.

Responsibilities
  • Execute and lead design, analysis, test, and commissioning activities for complex mechanical systems.
  • Prepare, approve, or lead the creation of design documentation, including technical documents, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Develop technical specifications, development and test plans, and engineering quotations.
  • Prepare and verify 3D modeling for conceptual design and perform stress analysis.
  • Apply and lead design for manufacturability / assembly (DFMA) techniques.
  • Provide technical support to CAD, Procurement, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Commissioning and Service personnel.
  • Participate in and lead internal and external meetings, such as design reviews, preparing and presenting technical data.
  • Prepare and verify project-level deliverables, including evaluations, reports, and assessments.
Essential Skills

Work Environment

This position is based on-site in Peterborough with a flexible start time. If you have nuclear experience, you will be required to work on-site two days a week. If your experience is in a different industry, you will work on-site three to four days a week. The typical work hours are from 8 AM to 4 : 30 PM. This role provides an opportunity to work in the nuclear industry, which is promising due to its focus on clean energy and government investments in medical isotopes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00 / hr.
