In 2023, Spencer Engineering was acquired by BESTECH, an innovative multi-disciplinary engineering services firm with over 30 years of proven success across a wide range of engineering disciplines.

Now operating as a specialized division under BESTECH, Spencer Engineering continues to deliver expert solutions through a dedicated team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Designers, Technologists, Technicians, PLC Specialists, Project Coordinators, and Trainers.

Whether you're just starting out or bringing years of experience, Spencer Engineering offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Your Role as Mechanical Engineer (Mine Hoist)

Reporting to the Supervisor of Mine Hoist Mechanical Engineering Services, you will join the specialized Mine Hoist Division of BESTECH, operating as Spencer Engineering—one of North America's most respected names in mine hoist engineering.

This is a unique opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer who is looking to build a highly specialized career while applying strong engineering fundamentals to some of the mining industry's most critical infrastructure. This role offers an exceptional combination of technical depth, project ownership, and field experience. You will have the opportunity to lead engineering assignments from concept through implementation while developing specialized expertise in an industry where few engineers have the opportunity to work. Once fully established in the role, you can expect to travel to client sites throughout North America for approximately 25% of your time, with the balance spent collaborating with our multidisciplinary team from our Owen Sound office.
