Job summary

Husky Technologies TM in Bolton, Ontario, is seeking an experienced lead engineer to drive product development from system-level design to realization. You will lead cross-functional teams, translate product concepts into robust, cost-effective designs and mentor engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design experience in a related industry.
• Specialized knowledge of product, market and customer requirements.

• Skilled in fluid mechanics simulation and data analysis.
• Expert in calculating design parameters and applying engineering principles to design.
• Strong understanding and experience in hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling water systems and the related industries.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of engineers/design specialists in the development of new products.
• Develop fluidpower concept and system level design with limited guidance.
• Participate in formulation/evaluation of business cases.
• Product architect.
• Contribute to and verify engineering documentation.
• Apply scientific/engineering principles in the design of machines.
• Sizing and selection of hydraulic and pneumatic components as well as material selection.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and training to team members.
• Lead design reviews and brainstorming sessions; decision making in product definition.
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement activities.
• Verify all concept and system level process steps are followed.
• Drive product development through team collaboration for successful outcomes.
• Design risk mitigation including FMEA.
• Cross-discipline interaction with Analysis, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Validation/Test.
• Represent Husky technically in front of customers, suppliers and technical partners.
• Represent the Innovation and Sustainability department to internal customers including executive team.

Replacement

Lead engineering design as part of the product development process by focusing on systems level and concept design. Translating product definition into high quality, reliable and cost-effective system level designs ready for detail design execution.

Responsibilities

• Workwithin a team ofEngineers/Design Specialists in the development of new products. This includes all steps within a formal product development process
• Develop Fluidpower concept and system level design with limited guidance, frequently in the absence of specific design standards
• Participate in the formulation and/or evaluation of business cases
• Product architect
• Contribute to and verify engineering documentation
• Apply scientific/engineering principles in the design of machines
• Sizing and selection of hydraulic and pneumatic components as well as material selection and application of design standards
• Provide leadership, mentoring and training to team members
• Lead and contribute to design reviews and brainstorming sessions as well as responsible for decision making in the context of product definition and architecture
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement activities
• Verify all concept and systems level process steps of the product development process and Product Release process are followed
• Drives the product development process by leveraging team collaboration to deliver successful outcomes
• Design risk mitigation including participation or facilitation of FMEA
• Cross discipline interaction and communication including cross discipline inputs – Analysis, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Manufacturing, Validation/Test
• Represent Husky technically in front of customers, suppliers and technical partners
• Represent the Innovation and Sustainability department in front of internal customers including the executive team
