Job summary

A leading talent solutions firm in Mississauga, ON is seeking a candidate with Mechanical Design experience to review and improve older model parts related to turbine engines. Responsibilities include design modifications, evaluations of non-conforming materials, and supporting outsourcing activities. The ideal candidate holds an Engineering Degree and has experience with CATIA and engine design. This role is fully onsite, offering a pay range of $36.00 - $40.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Design.
• Ability to understand how parts interact with one another.
• Knowledge in turbine engine design or automotive engine design.

Responsibilities

• Design modifications to resolve producibility challenges.
• Perform engineering evaluations of non-conforming material.
• Define plans for components manufactured by new suppliers.
• Initiate design modifications for cost reductions.

Overview

Candidate will review drawings of older model parts that are having non-conformity issues. They will make suggestions for improvement on the parts, and write reports on their findings. They will need an understanding of turbine engines, or similar products that are complex in design, have multiple components and interact with hot and cold elements. They will do a lot of coordination with the drafting and design team, as well as the analytical team.

Responsibilities

• Design modifications that will resolve producibility challenges on turbomachinery components.
• Perform thorough engineering evaluations of non-conforming material.
• Support outsourcing activities by defining and executing substantiation plans for components manufactured by new suppliers.
• Initiate design modifications for cost reductions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years Mechanical Design experience
• Must be able to understand Assembly drawings and how parts interact with one another.
• Must have an Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
