Job summary

Husky Technologies is seeking a Designer, Development (Mechanical) to join our Bolton, Ontario engineering team. You will contribute to a formal product development process, design complex machinery and drive design reviews while ensuring design compliance and manufacturability.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree in engineering, 5+ years design experience, strong communication and modeling skills, and familiarity with automated machinery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of design execution experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Expert in modeling and detailing techniques.
• Expert in calculating design parameters and applying engineering principles.
• Strong understanding of stress analysis techniques.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Experience with large automated machinery is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Engineers/Design Specialists in the development of new products.
• Apply scientific/engineering principles in the design of machines.
• Create system level concept designs with CAD layouts and function blocks.
• Size and select components and materials according to design standards.
• Optimize design for manufacturing processes (DFM) and testing.
• Perform structural/thermal/dynamics analyses and tolerance stack-up.
• Create detailed drawings and GD&T documents.
• Maintain Husky design standards and verify design compliance.
• Lead design reviews and continuous improvement activities.
• Represent Husky technically in front of customers.
