Job Overview
Thinkpath Engineering Services (TES) is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work onsite at a client’s facility in Burlington, ON. Candidates should have experience with automated equipment or similar background. The position will initially be a 6 to 12 month contract.
Responsibilities
- Machine concept and detailed design development in a 3D modelling environment (Autodesk Inventor).
- Participating in all phases of the design, development, and implementation of our machine technology.
- Working with the others to ensure attainment of design goals.
- Design new products and make improvements to existing products.
- Researching and analyzing requirements and technical specifications to satisfy end‑user requirements.
- Interfacing with customers and managers to determine project scope, requirements, deliverables, budget, costing and schedules.
- Providing onsite installation, troubleshooting, debugging, commissioning and maintenance support for our equipment in the field.
- Producing design documents, schematics, and process control diagrams.
- Review designs with fabrication shops to ensure consistent design, fabrication and quality specifications.
Skills Desired
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Advanced 3D modelling skills.
- Experience in Autodesk Inventor.
- Bulk material handling and / or packaging experience.
- Strong overall design, project leadership and communication skills.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering design.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks.
