Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking an experienced Assembler for our Delta, BC site. You will join a premier client’s production team, assembling and testing mechanical drive equipment, including motors, gearboxes, and variable speed inverters.

The role is full-time in Delta, BC with a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering competitive hourly pay and a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, warehouse, or industrial repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, schematics and assembly diagrams.
  • Proficient in operating precision hand tools and shop machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and blueprints to plan assembly of motors, gearboxes, and inverters.
  • Press gears, shafts, bearings and components into housings for assemblies.
  • Inspect incoming/outgoing parts for wear or defects before final assembly.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely, including pneumatic tools and hoists.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstation; document QC checks.

Start Date: August 19th

Pay Rate: $22 - $23/hour based on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Shift Time: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
  • Review detailed work orders and technical blueprints to plan the sequential assembly of motors, gearboxes, and variable speed inverters.
  • Carefully press gears, shafts, bearings, and internal components into specialized housings to complete mechanical drive assemblies.
  • Inspect all incoming and outgoing parts for wear, damage, or manufacturing defects prior to final unit assembly.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including compressed air guns, rubber mallets, needle‑nosed pliers, circlip pliers, grease guns, hoists, and hydraulic presses safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station by clearing metal debris, wiping up fluid spills, restocking essential hardware, and maintaining tools.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to verify that completed units strictly match work order specifications and client requirements.
  • Participate in cross‑training initiatives and assist across various work stations or production lines within the manufacturing & logistics facility as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience & Education: 1 to 2 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical assembly, warehouse, or industrial repair
  • Technical Aptitude & Tool Proficiency: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability to troubleshoot mechanical failures, read and interpret work orders, schematics, and mechanical assembly diagrams, and proficiently operate precision hand tools, pneumatic power tools, overhead hoists, and shop machinery.
  • Physical Capability & Precision: Physical stamina combined with excellent manual dexterity, fine finger coordination for assembling intricate components in tight spaces, and sharp auditory and olfactory concentration to detect mechanical irregularities during testing.
  • Safety, Efficiency & Teamwork: Strict adherence to shop safety regulations, PPE requirements, and workspace cleanliness, paired with excellent time‑management skills to meet tight, same‑day production deadlines and clear verbal communication to collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members.
