Job summary

EllisDon Corporation in Ottawa, Canada seeks an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager to lead ME&E scopes and IT integration on complex construction projects. You will develop schedules, monitor costs, review consultant changes and ensure timely billing and quality reporting.

The role requires 8–10 years of ME&E construction experience, strong budgeting and lifecycle compliance knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Eight to ten years of Mechanical and Electrical construction experience.
• Experience managing projects from scope development to close out.
• Knowledge of maintenance and lifecycle budgeting and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan the Mechanical, Electrical and Information Technology scopes of work and prepare a construction schedule with the Project Superintendent.
• Prepare regular, timely billings for mechanical and electrical components to ensure timely payments.
• Monitor material and labour costs for Mechanical and Electrical components and ensure accurate quality reporting.
• Review changes from Consultants and subcontractor pricing for completeness and compliance.
• Provide expert advice and maintain detailed records of site infrastructure, plant and equipment.
• Plan the Mechanical, Electrical and IT components of a construction project.
• Prepare and lead project meetings, assess scheduling and costing, and solve complex technical issues.
• Serve as a focal point liaison for the end Client on all operational service aspects.
• Review workload to achieve cost-effective, high-quality service.
• Establish policies, procedures, indicators, timetables and performance measures for timely deliverables.
• Manage the commissioning program of building systems including coordination, testing, verification and training.

You as a “Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager ” will be:

• Plan the Mechanical, Electrical and Information Technology Scopes of work of a construction project and prepare a construction schedule in conjunction with the Project Superintendent

• Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for the mechanical and electrical components of the job to ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings

• Monitor in conjunction with the Superintendent, a project’s material and labour costs for Mechanical and Electrical components and assure accurate quality reporting is being conducted

• Review Mechanical and Electrical changes received from the Consultants to ensure they are complete and up to standards and review subcontractor prices on these changes

• Provide expert advice and proactively report on delivery and performance, utilizing available tools and information while maintaining detailed, accurate and up to date records of site infrastructure, plant and equipment including product and technical information

• Plan the Mechanical, Electrical and Information Technology components of a construction project

• Prepare and lead project meetings, determining the status of the job in terms of scheduling and costing and solve complex technical issues

• Provide a focal point liaison for the end Client on all aspect of the operational service

• Constantly review the department’s workload to achieve a cost effective and quality service

• Establish necessary policies, procedures, action plans, critical indicators, timetables and performance measures to guarantee high quality services and timely deliverables to the client

• Manage the overall commissioning program of the building systems including coordination, testing verification and training

Is this the right role for you?

• Experienced in the management of the projects from start to finish, including; scope development, specification development, tender management, managing contractor installation, quality review and project close out

• You have eight to ten years of Mechanical and Electrical construction experienceor an equivalent combination of technical training and experience

• You have a full understanding and proven experience with maintenance and life-cycle budgeting and are technically competent in understanding statutory and mandatory compliances and legislation

• Experienced in managing various projects and tasks

• Experienced manager with proven skills in construction

• Ability to prioritize and manage workload with limited supervision

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000
