Our mechanics work on light fleet vehicles, school buses, plow trucks and heavy equipment. This work is vital to keep the Province’s fleet safely on the road.

What you will do

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking an individual to join the Fredericton District as a Mechanic (T&T) working in the Fredericton Bus Repair Facility.

As a member of the Vehicle Management Agency, the successful candidate will be responsible for

• the maintenance, repair and installation of automotive and related equipment.

Work environment:

  • 40-hour work week, with variable hours, including evenings and weekends, when required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of Journeyperson's certificates in the Truck and Transport (T&T) trades as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

SALARY:

Mechanic (AST and T&T): Journeyperson’s Certificates in AST and T&T: $34.17 per hour based on a 40‑hour work week. The successful candidate will receive an additional 5% to their hourly salary rate as a temporary adjustment for recruitment and retention.
