Job summary

A transportation and logistics company in Edmonton is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic. You will inspect, maintain, and repair on-/off-road and heavy-duty equipment, ensuring safety and performance goals are met. Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 10:00-18:30

Location: Edmonton North depot, 17718 114 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5S 2N4

Wage: $47.58 per hour

Description

The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on‑/off‑road and heavy‑duty equipment to ensure proper function, vehicle safety, and meet quality and performance goals.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair on‑/off‑road and heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function, and meet vehicle safety and quality goals.
  • Assist with entering data in the mechanic’s maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA)).
  • Communicate concerns or escalates unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager.
  • Respond to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers.

  • Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license.
  • Valid “AZ / Class 1” class driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements.
